Maybe the title should be "Confederates and Scottish Clansmen." The juxtaposition of "Confederates" and "Clansmen" might make readers think that you meant "Klansmen," and create a bit of angst.

I like the Stewarts of Appin and the Confederate troops, by the way.

Yes in the USA, using the title "Confederates and Clansmen" may have a different connotation to most of us here. But you may have not known that being from the UK.

Anyway, klansmen is spelt incorrectly
