I recently picked up two Carthaginian elephants from A&A only to belatedly realise that their heads have the telltale bump of an Indian elephant (not to mention the ears, too).

Does anyone know of any compatible African elephant heads that could be used as a head swap?

The A&A nellie stands 45mm at the shoulder. Neck join is 10mm by 15mm.

Contact Aventine perhaps…. Same sculptor maybe?

An Aventine head would probably work but the A&A nellie isn't Adam's work. It is an unusually tubby pachyderm!

Thanks, I'll ask Aventine.

Simon, given your extensive elephant collection, is the A&A nellie a comparable height to other 28mm African elephants?

ether drake , they match up with IMHO Crusader and Old Glory. Mike Adams P.S. Hi Simon

Thanks, Mike. The Crusader one's an Indian too, as far as I can see. Same sculptor.

Aventine got back and said they'd send me some African elephant heads in my next order. They said if they work, pay them. If not, keep them. Very nice.

Keith is so helpful…

I had an A&A once but it was a bit too well fed for my tastes, so I sold it. IIRC height was similar. That said I like my Africans small when I can find them small, which isn't very often!

Rotund elephant? Didn't they load them up with beer before battle? Surely there's scope for pachydermic beer gut in 28mm?

Simon likes them small… I think I have the smallest set of elephants. LOL

I said "elephants"
