Looking for Blue Moon sized late war Austro-Hungarians. Yes, one could probably just use Germans, but I am thinking that rifles, machine-guns, and some uniform details would be different enough to warrant specific figures. Does such a thing exist? |

Look at Minifigs for Austrians in helmets. |

Are they tall enough for use with Blue Moon, and can one buy them in the softer metal and in the old 24 figure packs somewhere? The current packaging, metal, and cost model for MiniFigs leaves me wanting something else. :) |

I don't have any idea about the size, and I agree the pricing sucks, but I am not aware of anyone else who has an A-H line in helmets. |

Offhand, I can't think of anyone else in that size. Our Austro Hungarian (primarily late war but some useable as early war) range are in 28mm (www.scarabminiatures.com) and at that size, yes, there are notable differences in HMGs and also possibly the rifles. While A/H uniforms are slightly different, most probably won't notice and at 18mm I won't think you need to be concerned by uniform or weapons, and probably its going to be difficult to quickly spot the difference in the HMGs unless you really know your stuff. You can see some of our figs in action here link where we used them as Germans (so it works both ways!!) So to conclude, you could use the Germans and make any small Austro Hungarian mods yourself. (we also have Great War Germans and we interchange them all the time when fighting the larger battles where we need more models) I hope that helped but accept it may not have really added much :) Kind regards Rob |

Thanks, Joe and Rob. In both cases that does help! If I apply the correct paint colors, maybe most folks will not notice if I use Blue Moon Germans as Austrians, otherwise I might go with the MiniFigs, although I am thinking they will be noticeably smaller. Oh, and great looking game, Rob! |

I play the Italian front using 18mm Blue Moon with the Germans subbing as AustroHungarians (different paint job basically) and the French as Italians. I think they look the part and no one has complained. |
