Looking for (free) downloads of wallpaper and carpets to do up interior of ruined buildings. I did find some dolls house wallpapers which I suppose can be rescaled but have yet to turn up carpets. Any suggestions? |

I'd just find whatever color or sample I liked, download the image, and scale it to fit. |

If you have a digital camera or a phone with camera built in, just go to your local library and photograph illustrations of 'Persian' carpets from the relevant section of shelves. If they have a magazine browsing section have a look for ads trying to sell carpets – if they have over lapped the carpets you can just cut and paste to make a full carpet as most designs are symmetrical. For wallpaper you can do much the same, look for a book on 'period' interiors. Once you have made up various carpets and walls, use your graphics program to shrink or enlarge them to fit then print them out. If you only have a B&W printer use it to check scale then take the file to a print service and get it printed in high resolution with waterproof inks. |

Go to any on-line interior decoration shop, like homedecorators.com/rugs and you can take your pick of pretty accurately sized printable rugs! |

For Dutch/Flemish houses, don't forget tiles. Searching "delft tiles" would give you images for the trim on or around fireplaces, for example. |

Look for online home decor web sites and steal their pictures. |
