I am particularly interested in Operation Jubilee , including wanting to build a wargaming force appropriate to the Canadians and commandos (especially the RM commandos who joined the main assault). I'm only finding very limited information on the heavier kit they took with them. I've got mention of the Churchills and Dingos, a couple of mentions of Universal Carriers, and at least one jeep, but what about anything bigger than their rifles and SMGs? I know the Canadians used Stens, being forced to return their Thompsons just before embarkation. I've seen pics of otehrs with Thompsons, so presumably the commandos kept theirs. I assume they had their 2" mortars, but what about 3" mortars, Boys rifles, 40mm Bofors, 2 or even 6 pdr AT guns? Any cars other than the Dingos? The Osprey on Dieppe is lacking in detail when it comes to kit, and my Google-fu has been particualrly weak :( |

I am no expert but I believe they used standard battalion kit for 1942 Not sure if they landed any AT guns and have not seen any pictures of any – also have only seen Dingos and Churchills in comtemporary photos |

Lovets commandos had a Boyes at rifle mounted with a scope that was used to knock out a German AA gun at the battery by punching rounds through the gun shield! |

I think that 2nd Cdn Div was on the normal Inf Div organisation for that period. I don't know whether the Inf Bns took any transport; there's a mention of 3-in mortars in one account but I don't know about carriers. I doubt there was much room for softskins. The tank were Churchills, and there's a mention of a scout car belonging to a Bde Sigs officer. RCA pers landed, with the aim of operating captured enemy guns, and do not appear to have landed guns.
