Lovely photos of great, grey ships! It would be nice if they did put HMS Illustrious on display, much better than that French ship several years ago, sailing from port to port with insulation problems.

Oh a trip down memory lane… and remarkable to see quite so many vessels there these days – although as several have pointed out that may not be altogethr intentional. I can remember when you take a trip around the harbour to see the vessels there – it must be over 50 years ago.. there were a LOT of vessels there then, and on every subsequent visit.. fewer and fewer….

I remember seeing similar sights when I was a deck cadet on the Commodore Clipper ferry operating out of Portsmouth. We used to berth near the HMS Bristol. Was always a good view of the warships from the bridge of our ferry.
