I'd like to have 3 men stands on magnetic bases. How would I go about attaching them to the bases? Glue a small magnet underneath I'm guessing….any suggestions as to what size magnet? What I want to be able to do is if 1 man get's KO'd to be able to just remove him from the stand. How would that work if the base isn't painted/flocked? Also, is there a good place to buy round metal bases?…other than washers or is that the best way? Thanks!! |

I use UK 1p coins and sabots from Warbases with embedded magnets. link
If you are in the US you will know that US 1 cent coins are not magnetic. In that case I would use an MDF penny from Warbases which also has an embedded magnet. There maybe similar solutions available in the US but I can say that Warbases have a good record in posting all over the world. |

If you are in the US, then Litko makes something very similar to Jim Duncan's Warbases suggestion. link Jim |

Does anyone make a circular base that would hold 3 figs? The square ones aren't very visually appealing. |

These irregular shaped ones look good: link They also do steel lined movement trays in irregular shapes: link As for the magnets, I use relatively cheap (£11.79 for 10 metres, 20 mm wide, 2 mm thick) self adhesive magnetic tape. I can cut it to the size of base I need. I usually make my own bases from 1.5 mm thick modellers ply or use 1p or 2 p coins. Recent productions of these are made of a magnetic material, cheaper than similar sized steel washers!

Has anyone tried attaching washer based infantry onto a larger magnetic sticker? (like something you'd attach to a fridge) |

Fridge magnets I have found don't stick very strongly. You can buy sheets to go through your printer. I like washers If one of your figures on a base meets an unfortunate fate, then you could replace him (or her) with a flocked blank base, if you want to preserve the look. John |
