Does anyone make females from the period with a musket, either loading or firing? Need a couple in heroic size (Dixon/Galloping Major/Redoubt size). If not, I think I can alter a couple of the Dixon Old West females with muskets. Thanks!

Dixon are hardly "heroic" scale, but closer to "true 25mm" scale. But I use them anyway.

You could possibly look at the new Perry Boer settlers…they are lovely figures

Redoubt is your friend here.

The "civilian/militia" section of Redoubt's F&IW range has women loading and carrying muskets, children clinging to their skirts, etc; don't recall any firing, although I think one was using a pistol in a very aggressive way (pack FI 05). The range is definitely "heroic" 28mm in size. The blockhouse (FIX23) has a woman firing a pistol two-handed, I think; there are also groups of women in various poses for most of their pre-modern ranges, which you could easily convert – listed under Body's Bits.

Don't go with the RAFMs although they are very nice figures. They are "true" 25mm and will look like girls next to Galloping Major or Redoubt. Unless of course you want some armed teenaged girl settlers.

Thanks for the suggestions. I knew the RAFM would be small but looked at it like Dixon – all their Old West women are small compared t the men.

Supercilious – I don't see the women handling muskets in the Redoubt packs, unless it's the one with no picture. Is that the pack?

Thanks again.

RAFM's ladies are a bit more than "true" 25mm.

Girlie 25's.

It appears that Redoubt are re-vamping their F&I range, as several of the packs I bought a couple of years back no longer exist, or have different combinations of figures in them. I can't find a picture of the set I was thinking of, so you probably need to contact them and see what they still have.
