Has any tried downloading the old Pony Wars rules from this site. I don't like the idea of giving them my credit card #.

As a general rule…screw that.

Unless I am mistaken that looks like a pirating site based in Russia….

docfin23 Sep 2016 11:23 a.m. PST

as far as I am aware there is no legitimate way to by the rules execpting original copies

Baccus 6mm24 Sep 2016 1:52 a.m. PST

Don't. You are just rewarding theft and risking your card details being passed on to the highest bidder.

Pony Wars will be reprinted. We are examining options and hope to have news soon.

Agreed.

That is excellent news, Baccus 6mm, I look forward to future announcements.

Didn't Peter Guilder write the Sudan version? If so, maybe someone at the Wagames Holiday Centre could help.

If I recall correctly (a very dangerous statement!) Wargames World, a five issue experiment by Duncan McFarland had a great deal of information about Guilder's Sudan games. If you are interested, I can check to see if the Pony Wars like rules were included in the write ups.

Baccus 6mm27 Sep 2016 6:11 a.m. PST

Peter Gilder 'borrowed heavily' from the Pony Wars rules to produce the Sudan version. The core mechanics and premise are the same, but with the Old West Hollywood fluff removed and replaced by British Imperial Hollywood fluff.

thanks Big Red and Baccus …are you referring to the rules "Sands of Sudan" to which there is this dedicated site?:

That is great news that Pony Wars is being republished. As Baccus 6mm says, so much of the fantastic basis of the Sudan rules Gilder based on Ian Becks original "B Company 'aint coming back". Wonderful, wonderful set of rules which truly deserve to be introduced to a new generation of wargamers and rekindled for we older ones as well.

"The Sands of Sudan" rules are gaining a very fond and dedicated following at present as well which is great to see.

Cheers

Carlo

Please Baccus can we have a 6mm Pony Wars range to go with it!

Early morning writer25 Jan 2017 10:58 p.m. PST

No offense to Baccus but I'm pretty sure there are several ranges of 6 mm figures for the Old West – Irregular at least but I'm pretty sure I've seen others. Maybe.
