And not the tank:

I'm not blown away by anything on this model as it is pretty much what I was expecting, almost to the rivet. With the exception of the sword. The sword loos kind of Chaos-y. I don't know enough about Russ to know why he would have that but I'm guessing there is some story.

One of these will obviously be necessary for my Prospero campaign and though I'm more interested in Magus I'll probably get Russ first even if they are both out when I'm ready for them.

Looks like he might be available for sale before the Battle for Prospero boxed set is out so that would give me time to get him done before I'm deluged with MKIII armoured marines.

I agree…Looks kinda Meh…I am really interested in Magnus though! Any ideas when he will appear? I'd love to see a Heresy era Ahriman too.

I have to admit amusement – a model of a Primarch that is not incredibly over-the-top, and the reaction (okay, sample of two…) is 'meh'!

I was expecting more beard and braids, myself. And the sword…yeah, that has to have a backstory, it's waaaay to Chaos for just a normal 40K super-sword.

Pictors Studio23 Sep 2016 7:29 a.m. PST

I didn't say I was "meh" exactly, just that I wasn't blown away. I think it looks great. It is exactly what I expected from Russ. The sculpting is fantastic, it is posed dynamically. It is just what you would want in a Primarch, seeing this one and Angron head to head would look fantastic on the table top.

Still the Space Wolves aren't my favourite Legion and the aesthetic of them doesn't call to me the way other ones do.

Hmmmm – I thought he would be taller

haywire23 Sep 2016 9:17 a.m. PST

He should have a couple wolves with him.

Sword matches the Heresy art so nothing new there. Perhaps his Wolves will be a separate set as they are massive in the fiction. Nice to see a fairly standard ruined base rather than something extreme like a reaver titan arm.

Insomniac23 Sep 2016 11:34 a.m. PST

The miniature doesn't shout "braggard, drunken, hell-raiser, father of wolves" to me… he looks more like an Imperial Fist or something… a bit too 'line towing' to be Russ.

I reckon Russ would be more of a slimmer, bigger version of Brian Blessed… someone who enjoys battle and a challenge.

… this one looks far too serious… and he needs his wolves. He ain't Russ without them :(

(Nice sculpt though… but a bit too vanilla).

Mid-tier primarch, better than Lorgar, worse than Fulgrim.
Those teeth also…

Waiting to see what lion El'Jonson

Since Dark Angels are the only decent Chapter.

Plus they were the First Legion/Chapter as well.

Sure they are hiding Secrets which only make them better.

I'm annoyed……….
I'm planning a large Space Hulk game based on the Emperor's assault on Horus's Barge at the climax of the Assault on Terra.
Now, I need models of, The Emperor, Rogal Dorn, Sanguinius, and Horus. Of these, only Horus has been rendered. I am currently searching foe suitable 'non' 40K proxies. Scibor do a suitable Rogal, with some converting. and a magnificent 'Archangel' that will make a great Blood Angel, and I've just found Kabuki/Kabuzi who make a great looking Emperor. I fully know that GW will release these as soon as I have finished them!

John

Oh, sorry, not meaning to hi-jack!

Pictors Studio23 Sep 2016 6:21 p.m. PST

Of the ones you are looking for I'm guessing that only Sanguinius will be released in the near future and even then I'm betting it is not until next year sometime. I actually wouldn't be surprised if they release another Horus model specifically for the endgame at Terra.

This boy will get a Big-arse Bolter, and Chainsword, lose the shields, get a greenstuff crop top, and imperial eagle over his head, and bam! Rogal!
link

A few imperial eagles on this beautiful creature, and Sanguinius is born, just don't think too much about those wings in the confines of Horus's corridors!
link

And this will make a splendid Emperor! minus the eagle.
link

Plus Chaos terminators, space marines, demons, maybe a few imperial guard, Ive made some large rooms from extra Space Hulk tiles, for Horus throne room, and some large other rooms, all 1st Ed Space Hulk, Now, space hulk rules for Primarchs! that'll be fun! hahahaha
