"Miniature wargames issue 402 is out" Topic

This is a very significant issue, as it is the last that is edited by Henry Hyde and it is a really good wargamers issue. (Available today on UK shelves at WH Smith).

i feel a little coy about saying that, since it contains an article by my own pen – but setting that aside, the fact that it is Henry's last issue of the magazine and there is a wonderful article by Arthur Harman (a full set of ACW rules on hexes with smaller scales), plus Craig Armstrong extols the virtues of sub 28mm gaming, makes this a really nice and special issue as it substantially gives some support to the smaller scales, something that recent media has not been notable for.

So well done Henry for a marvelous 10 years of support to the hobby and giving so many people a chance to write for the magazine, This is a superb issue for you to have gone out with – a real wargamers treat.

Sorry, that should say ECW rules, not ACW, I have my Kallistra ACW in front of me doing some re-basing – doh!

And so another era draws to a close….. I for one am sorry to see the "Battlegames" name disappear. It was battlegames got me back into mags (after Battle for Wargamers folded). I rarely used to buy the old Miniature Wargames…. I hope the mag will not revert to those old days after such a promising recent run.

Agreed, Henry did a great job and a real service to the hobby.

Bought the magazine at the weekend…chuffed to bits to see my blog was nominated on Blogs of the Month…
