"The Napoleonic Wars make the subject for Osprey's Elite 215, tackling the subject of British Light Infantry and Rifle Regiment Tactics. There had been lightly armed units very suitable for reconnaissance and irregular warfare, it during the Peninsular war that the British Army took on a more systematic approach to their use. After some historical background, it goes on to tell us about some of the individuals who played their part in these new developments, including the vision of Sir John Moore, how it worked and the units involved. In particular it involved the recognition and encouragement of individual initiative of the soldiers themselves, an approach which is so closely related to the role of the modern infantry soldier…"

It is advertised on Amazon as being available on the 20th October and is certainly on my to-buy list.

Talking of which, I wonder if we will ever see a Russian or Austrian tactics title? The Napoleonic Tactics series seems incomplete as it stands and I'm sure they would sell well.
