"Spanish 28mm WAS/7YW figures" Topic

I'mn looking to extend my forces beyond my current French in Italy – Crusader/Black Hussar(foot) and Front Rank(horse)

Who makes Spanish figures for this period? I know Crann Tara do but reviews suggest they are incompatible with other manufacturers(?) Or can Ebor WSS be used?

This is a problem as the Spanish appear to have had a coat that buttoned up along the front, very much in the Swedish style. If you, like me, use the Front Rank/Foundry/Crusader style of figure then there is no decent figure you can use for the Spanish.
For my WAS Spanish in Italy I have some Swedish GNW figures from Barry Hilton that look ok (in terms of coat) although the full-hair of the officers looks wrong.

Check out the RSM website. They have a whole line of Spanish figures for the period. They are probably slightly less bulky than the Front rank, but pretty close: at least not noticeable if they are in separate units and not mixed together. dpcltdcom.org is their site. Hope it helps. Tom

I've not heard of these before. Not many useful photos on the site. Where can I see more – and how they compare with other manufacturers?

RSM are some of the nicest figures out there. They are very nicely proportioned and posed. They are unfortunately NOT easy to see or buy online.

RSM's Spanish figures were originally made by The London Warroom and were, I think, sculpted by Vince Clyant. RSM bought the molds after TLWR went out of business. They are, as can be seen from my blog post (thanks 1ingram) much in the more "modern" sculpting style than the RSM figures.

Having contacted the firm at <radetzky@prodigy.net> I received back offers of samples and a long, long list of their 18thC figures. He says: "The figures will mix well with the figures you listed. Lots of poses – attached individual figure list".

Here is the Spanish section. You will see there are a lot of them. I'm amazed this firm isn't better known this side of the Atlantic – especially at only 90 cents a figure.
