Interesting that all the Russian re-enactors I have seen do not use hat tape on the tricornes

My understanding was that despite some inaccurate representations in Viskavatov et al. hat lace only came in in Russia in the middle of the century towards 1760-ish. That is certainly the opinion amongst Russian re-enactors (when they are not playing silly Bleeped texts in Ukraine)..
