I have occasionally bought products from this company without any problem and have got what I would rate as good service. I ordered a Congo Starter set on August 8 and have yet to receive it. Over the last several days, i.e. more then a week I have sent 3 emails with a response. I hate to initiate the Paypal dispute procedure, but I feel I do not have much choice. Has anyone else had similar problems. John |

Aotrs Shipyards is a webstore on Shapeways.com, a 3D print house which had production and shipping facilities located in the USA and the the Netherlands. So, this month we have the T-62, in three versions, 1962, 1967 and 1972, in 144th! And, as a rare treat, this month things panned out such that we have actually got photos of the WSF models, rather than just the Replicator prototypes! T-62 (1962)
link T-62 (1967)
link T-62 (1972)
link _______ For good measure, here's lats month's BMD-1P and BMD-2 in WSF as well, since due to the turrets, I wasn't able to have them prototyped on the Rep 2! BMD-1P
BMD-2
______ Next month – all being well – we should have the T-64A! Work is in progress… The base T-64 is a possible variant, but it has been surprisingly hard to find good technical drawings and photos of T-64s and the A versions and later were all I could find good walkarounds for, so we'll see! Maybe – but again, no promises – I might be able to do the T-64B as well, depending on how things go. After that, I'm nominally slating the T-80 (since that would then gives us T-55, T-62, T-64, T-72, T-80 and T-90 – basically the full set!). Edit: don't you just hate that particular double-posting bug… |

Hello, Aotrs Commander! Very good tanks! It would be nice to make T-62 with "Ilyich's Eyebrows" (Additional armour on turret of Soviet troops in Afghan T-62's). Heh, the T-64. Scrap metal, which I learned in the training of the drive normal tanks. It is a pity of course, that I lost the phone with pictures. If, in the Russian-speaking segment of the Internet drawings T-64 quite a lot. Here are the scanned original plant drawings:
This link, I have somehow led, but just in case duplicates again. link link D0% BA% D0% B0% D1% 86% D0% B8% D0% B8 btvt.narod.ru/4/t-64.htm link armor.kiev.ua/Tanks/Modern/T64 Walkarounds: link |

Cheers! That ought to help a great deal, especially the photoes. Very much appreciated! (Maybe I ought to get my mate – who speaks fluent Russian and lived in Moscow for several years – to make me a table of basic English to Russian designations so I can try and add that to my search parametres. I manage to just about muddle my way through with German vehicles, but that's about it. My talents unfortunately, do not extent to language (aside from English); I couldn't even manage Klingon when I actually tried!) According to my googling, the "Ilyich's Eyebrows" is what's on the T-62M, yes? I've added that to my list. I think, then, perhaps once I've done the T-80, I might have a session of going back and doing a few more variants (T-62M, T-72B) – as by that point, we'll be in December, which is a shorter work month for me (and a busy time of year!) |

Hello, Aotrs Commander! As for the language, do not worry – I strongly suspect that my written English sounds like the Russian in the film "Red Dawn." Yes, the terms there is no particular complexity. Just type in the Google-Images "чертежи <name on Russian tank – such as the Т-80БВ>" – and usually almost immediately appears a stack of drawings. Names in the Russian versions are in Russian Wikipedia. Although to this rule there are exceptions, but it is unlikely you will need drawings of any "Object 256bis-125-90" or other "T-80ABCDEF" Basically, if there are questions on Russian terms, feel free to contact me – an optional practice in English for me. If you need tanks pictures – on the same site (Dishmodels) go to the column "ПОИСК" / "Наименование работы" and type russian name of vehicle. > According to my googling, the "Ilyich's Eyebrows" is what's on the T-62M, yes? Yes, everything is correct. Actually, this extra armor so named because of the resemblance to Brezhnev eyebrows. |

Those look really good. What are the differences between the various T-62s, other than their release dates, and the MG on the turret of the last one? Looking forward to your T-64s, and other stuff. As always, would love to see you produce the little, West German Spz Kurz (Spz 11-2) with 20mm cannon, since no one else produces it in this scale, and it served from 1958 – 1982 in various units of the Bundeswehr: link I'd also love to see early variants of the Marder 1 IFV produced for the West Germans too, since they need them to combat your other kit, and no one else produces them either. Would be nice to see the Marder 1 with the little remote MG on the rear hull, and options for the vehicle with/without the Milan launcher attached to the turret. Could use an ASU-85 also, to go with, and to provide fire support for the nice little BMDs you make. |

Externally, there's not a huge difference between them. The 1967 T-62 has a different engine block to the 1962 T-62. The 1972 T-62 is a further upgrade to the 1967 T-62, principally with the addition* of the MG on the loader's hatch (neccesitating the reversal of the hatch). (There were a few other minor changes on the real thing – different tracks and fording gear – but not something I attempted to model as those details are not worth or beyond the level of modelling at this scale.) More German vehicles are the list; once I've done with the Russian tanks (this year's nominal goal), next year's nominal goal will be to strat dealing with some of those.
*Strictly, this was optional on the earlier versions, but seems to have been very limited in application (I found very few pictures) until 1972 , when it was fitted to all tanks as standard. |

Excellent news on the West German armor! Thank you for the info on the various types of T-62s also. Would love to see BTR-70s, BTR-80s, and BTR-82s too, when/if you have the time and inclination. A MBT-70 tank would be appreciated as well, for "what-if" battles. Perhaps options for 152mm gun/launcher, and a standard gun barrel as well. |
Aotrs Commander | 15 Sep 2016 2:26 p.m. PST |
The MBT-70 might be a stretch too far, I'm afraid, simply because trying to find enough suitable images and technical drawing might prove to be rather difficult. The other BTRs will likely be tackled at some point, though no projections as to when! |
Mako11 | 15 Sep 2016 5:04 p.m. PST |
Yea, I figured that might be the case. Still, with these, and others perhaps, it might be doable, since there are some 4-view images, and quite a few pics around of the vehicles: link I think having the MBT-70 available in this scale, and no others might help to convince people to try 1/144th scale armored gaming, boosting sales of other products. Plus of course, the Sci-Fi crowd might jump in too.
