Hi all, This year I ran a Weird War II game at Cold Wars and Historicon and found the GM experience to be rewarding and enjoyable enough that I'd like to continue, however I'm going to switch to "regular" WWII while I work on the second installment of my WWWII game. Here's what I'm thinking initially: - around 4 to 6 players - 4'x6' board - 28mm - skirmish level, about a platoon per side with support - Western European Theater - dense terrain, maybe even a city fight With this in mind, I'd love to hear some recommendations for what you consider to be good convention rulesets. I'm familiar with Bolt Action, Chain of Command and Disposable Heroes but am always willing to learn something new. I'd like as little downtime between player turns as possible. Thanks much, and looking forward to your comments. Best, John |

Big Chain of Command. All the players busy all of the time. No waiting for your dice to be pulled from a bag. |

I have run Disposable Heroes at many cons for WWII skirmish level Western Europe battles. We usually play a platoon on each side plus support weapons and often a tank or AFV on each side. You could have more infantry on the table to have more troops for your players in your game. Good luck and enjoy! |

I actually would shy away from anything complex. I've played Disposable Heroes in a convention game and it seemed easy enough to pick up. I think Chain of Command is a much better game head to head. Others worth looking at because they are easy to play: Look Sarge! No Charts! Crossfire For downtime per player, you want games where one side goes and then the other side. That way, at least one side is moving. |

All rules with changing unit activation dont work for fast play with many players. So BA and Crossfire are out IMO. I would go with Disposable Heroes. |

Take a look at Men Under Fire. |

Chain of Command is better head to head, but I recommended BIG Chain of Command, where all the players get their own command dice. Ideal for large games. |

Thanks all. I think I'm leaning toward Big CoC as I'm most familiar with Chain of Command. |
