Despite being somewhat late to this party, I've just started playing "Star Trek: Attack Wing", and thought a series of BatReps (initially just using the minis in the Starter Set) might be of interest to some people.

This opening battle pits the U.S.S. Enterprise-D against a Vor-cha class Klingon attack cruiser, after Captain Nu'Daq decides to encroach upon Federation space.

Thanks for looking, and if you've spotted any rule mistakes please let me know. I'm hoping to put together a series of these games, each of which slowly introduces some of the additional rules and scenarios. For now though I just want to ensure we get the basics right  :)

Nice little battle report, thanks for sharing!

Attack Wing isn't my thing for Trek starship combat, but you showed that it can be a good game, when given the proper narrative. Maybe I should soften my hard-hearted attitude to it…

Thanks MacrossMartin. I think the paintjobs are the game's biggest hurdle, especially when compared to "X-Wings". Plus their decision to mix scales between TOS and TNG etc vessels. They are now starting to reissue the old ships with new paintjobs. But their decision to make the Federation all silver probably isn't going to win them any fans either.

I never was into ST Attack Wing, but recall a Yr+ back, seeing a Constitution cl. mini next to some TNG. I thought, "thats pretty small", (the Con.) BUT it seemed to reflect the ships getting bigger w/ the series time line.

However,

you GOT to be joking!?
Now that you mentioned this, I did read an AAR, one ship on the table that was 'silver'. My first thought "its THE Enterprise from that series." When I read it was "Akira", I was surprised, thought little of it, but dispointed in the look.

Once M M released a 'special collection set' (so called), a dozen+ ships. The "entire" set was done in silver. It looked anything but special, IMHO they came off as "Cheap, One color plastic toys".

Im not a fan of TNG gaming, TOS is my fav ST period. However I 'was' starting to rethink looking into this game. BUT if they have dropped to the level of "dunking" the mini's into "A can of paint" so to speak, and calling it painted. Im out. (period)
