All,
I am getting ready to order Peter Pig SCW figures. I know the go to guy here in the States used to be Brookhurst Hobbies. Lately though I've heard a lot of bad things about them. Am I better off ordering direct from Peter Pig?

I've found that Brookhurst has always carried a limited number of figures, so often put items on backorder, since they would have to add them to their next order and wait for them to come in from England. Order directly from Peter Pig. I've never had a problem, the figures come pretty quickly and it's a pleasure doing business with them directly.

Yup, much better off going direct.

I've never had 100% fill rate from Brookhurst on Peter Pig or any other line I've tried to order through them.

Has there been a change of management at Brookhurst?

Yes Larry retired. Henry still owns it.

I have no direct experience, but a gamer Iknew who used to order a lot of PP miniatures said Brookhurst could never complete his orders. Just think about the sheer number of SKUs that PP has, and how deep you'd have to carry some of those numbers. It is no wonder stuff has to go on back order. If I ever start my WWI project, I will order from PP directly.

I agree with above. Go direct.

If you are ordering a limited number of packs, like a British Para PIAT team, you should have no problem.
If you are building a complete Flames of War "army", like a Cossack battalion, you might get half to a third of what you need.

I'd avoid Brookhurst. They dropped the ball for me once Larry left. I had an order that was placed last fall when they had their big PP sale. I got about half. No word, nothing. Called them up they said it was back ordered, ok, no problem. Also told them them were being panned on TMP.

Supposedly the stuff was going to come to me. Never heard a word for 6 or 8 months until a package arrived unexpectedly this summer. The back ordered stuff. I was a bit put off because I nearly ordered it direct and to boot they have my card on file and just ran it. It's irritating and really poor customer relations.

I still need to look and see if they honored the original sale price (Larry said he would but with him being gone who knows) and if there is any new back orders.

I'm not completely taking them off my list of stores I may use but I no longer implicitly trust them.

That's too bad to hear. I used to order from Brookhurst all the time back in the day, and always had fantastic service but that was years ago.

I have had great service ordering directly from Peter Pig and shipping to the east coast USA.

Another vote for ordering direct from PP. Have made numerous purchases and have never had a problem.
