In Armies of the Ottoman Turks, 1300-1774 by David Nicolle & Angus McBride, there is a black and white picture of the new 'Tufekci' infantry. It took me a while to find a coloured version: Ottoman Tüfekçi musketeers of Ken'an Paşa in a Pāshānameh, c. 1630. British Museum, Sloane 3584, folio 20a
it can be seen that they all wear a red fez, but their coats are variously red, blue, brown, etc.

That's amazing Druzhina! Do you have more Pictures of this Pashanameh, or information about it?

Not much, there is 1 image on commons.wikimedia.
The manuscript was transferred from the British Museum to the British Library. The British Library doesn't seem to have a sponsored project to digitise its eastern manuscripts, but I was surprised to find Kitāb Na‛t al-ḥayawān, British Library, manuscript Or.2784., possibly painted in Baghdad, 13th century in the Qatar Digital Library, so more may turn up elsewhere.

I had the book it is from on inter-library loan, this is the only folio from that manuscript that was included.

Googling, I found: a paper with an abstract in English.

Druzhina, have you seen this other paper ( link )? It has more miniatures from this album! (Although they are in Black and White)

Thanks Don Sebastian, those 3 miniatures from Add. 3584 plus the wikimedia image account for 4 of the 5 the other paper said the manuscript has.
