I think they look brilliant – good job!

Your typo of '!06' reminded my of myself – 'Hurray! At last! I have finished painting 6 figures!'

I also like that you've made them capable of being dismounted to use as single stands. In the past couple of years I've grown to like the appearance and versatility of individually mounted figures, way more than multi-figure stands. I also think figures fair better to handling abuse if they're light-weighted on single stands, rather than heavily-weighted on multi-stands (seems counter-intuitive, but has proven so in actual field use). Last thing I like about the ability to use single stands – there's a 'work load' required to move individual stands compared to their equivalent on mass stands (this also would seem counter-intuitive), but players seem to gain a sense of "mass" from the amount of figure stands they must move, and not necessarily from the mass of figures actually on the table – it's that tactile feedback experience I think.

Anyway, beautifully painted figures ETS!!!

Hi FlyXwire

Thanks for your comments. Personally I have never gone for the multi figure single based approach although I do see the merits.

With so many rulesets to have a go at these days the option of single stand on movement tray creates the variation needed for any particular game.

Last week was a good example – we needed natives for out first congo game. Hey presto some of my Zulus were pressed into action.

I also find painting the minis once the washers are added makes for a much easier job.

thanks

Totally agree on the pre-mounting before painting technique too (I use the metal washer for a magnetic attachment onto my painting device):

Nice-looking figures!

How many Zulu warriors will be needed to take on a British force of 106 infantry?

All of them?

No, seriously. You can never have enough Zulus (or Pathans).

How many zulus…

More than the 400 painted so far..

Mercy. That is a lot of Zulus!

Well done, my effort pales into insignificance by comparison.

I think that I am going to base my Brits on bases of four just for ease of movement.
