Hi all, I just purchased some 28mm Hat Bavarians at a bargain (about 13€ for two boxes). So I basically have quite a lot of infantry now (at least for the rules I want to play). I'm looking for some "compatible" artillery and cavalry. I love Perry miniatures, but I cannot find any pictures of how their cavalry compares to Hat infantry (which I read are smaller and slender). I'm not very afraid, since cavalry and infantry will be in different units of course, but I would be happy to see a comparison or to hear about better suited brands. Thanks! |

Foundry may be better. Scott Macphhee did some lovely comparison pics, showing how nice the HaT 28mm stuff can paint up |

I have Front Rank, although very nice sculpts Perry would sit better, Tally Ho! |

You might be better off looking for something a bit old school like Hinchcliffe or Connoisseur. |

I would try converting some Alban figures. That's the only manufacturer that matched HaT's lean figures. I do wish HaT had expanded the range. I emailed back and forth with them about it, and they were planning some ambitious stuff, but . . . nothing. |

I think Hat is quite slow in developing, maybe some 5-10 years before they'll be able to sell some complete range. Alban are no longer avaible, I'm afraid. (Anyway I don't think they do Bavarian, and I'm not so good at converting metal figs). I'll try to obtain some Hinchcliffe models as comparison. And some Perry's as well. Luckily cavalry and infantry are not directly compared usually. Anyone owns some pictures of cavalry (any brand) next to Hat infantry? |
