In 'final round' polls, the 'Other' option makes no sense. - Remove it - Leave it be - Remove it, but the editor can add 'write in' options if appropriate from earlier rounds - Other :) - Not interested in polls |

Remove it. By the Final Round, the People hath spoken. Vox Populi. |

Replace it with "none of the above." |

What tkdguy said. Sometimes the only options left are so bonkers that 'other/none' is the only rational response. Think of it as spoiling your ballot paper. |

A 'not interested in polls' option wouldn't make sense – anyone not intereste in polls wouldn't be reading it anyway! |

Another vote for the 'none of the above' option here. |

Also remove the "not interested in…" option or similar. If you aren't interested, don't play the particular rules etc. just don't vote. |

Agreed. Delete No Opinion too. Keep the options clear. |

"Other" or "No Oponion" options are fine in the initial round. But they should have to make the cut in the final round to be considered as a choice, just like the other choices. |

There will always be an "other" and "no opinion." It may not get counted, but it will exist none the less. |

Those 'other' or 'no opinion' or 'never heard of' whatever X always threw off the poles for me. I don't care if you have no opinion or have never heard of the topic at hand. Eliminate those options. |

What if you wanted to poll if people preferred drinking Coke or Pepsi. How should the poll look? Two choices only: A) Coke or B) Pepsi? What if you drink neither? What if you drink both and don't really care which? What if you drink brand X cola instead? What if you really dislike both. I think any poll should have an "out" for those who reject the choices given but still want a voice in the matter. In this case there could be a choice C) which for simplicity could be labeled 'none of the above', but would really be an amalgamation of various answers such as 'not applicable' or 'not interested' 'no opinion' etc. The key is to not have any more than one "out" selection to chose from. The "out" option will help highlight invalid or too restrictive poll questions. |
GarrisonMiniatures | 08 Sep 2016 11:39 p.m. PST |
Some polls are designed to be restrictive. If you want to assess whether or not your product or the object of the poll is viewed as being better than another product or object then any other item is simply not relevant. Likewise, if you like neither – then you won't buy either of the two, so why would your views count? Depends on the poll. |

the OP says 'final rounds'. if you have an 'other', you had the opportunity to voice it earlier. Likewise for don't like X or never heard of and none. if a significant number of people support an other in the comments, does it get added to thr final? |

What if the poll asked: What is your favorite vegetable? A) Apple B) Banana C) Orange How would you answer? |
