Ever posted something, switched off the PC and then thought….no, go back and delete it all? I have just (almost) done that but I will leave this, mercifully shorter, remnant of my original response; "Has anyone else read this yet? As what should be historiography, it seems, instead, to drift into a simple account of the campaign and into a major diversion towards salvaging Grouchy's reputation. It needs much proofreading to correct typographical errors, but….above all….it lacks novelty…indeed it lacks any claim as to what it adds to the vast current literature on this subject." |
