I'm making a scenario based on an escalation of the 1973 Arab-Israeli war and I need some help painting the minis, when I buy them. The forces are the U.S. Marines, the Soviet Union, Egpyt, Syria and Israel. I was hoping for some guides on timeline specific paint jobs and how to pull them off. Right now the painting supplies I have are the Citadel Age of Sigma essentials kit, a white Citadel spray paint and some sealant. Any tips are appreciated!

Oh, also the scale is 3mm. I'm not looking for intense detail either!

Well, assuming you're talking painting vehicles, US Marines would be US Marine Green. A slightly bluer shade of green, than olive drab.

Sorry, can't help much on the others, but suspect various shades of desert for the Egyptians and Syrians. Sometimes you see an orangish color camo for the Syrians.

Not sure if Israelis would be gray-green, or desert. Probably the former, but don't know for sure, and it quickly gets covered by dust from the desert, so…..

Try looking on Google Images a bit. Lots of reference pics there, I suspect. Make sure to put in the year, and take all captions with a grain of salt, unless you see multiples of that, since they can frequently be incorrect.

What paints would you recommend? I'm okay with getting an era-specific bundle. Maybe even the Citadel ones I have will be alright.
