… Shows He Loves His Junk.

"Entertainment Weekly released the first photo of actor Gabriel Luna as Robbie Reyes, aka the Rider of Ghost, who's making his S.H.I.E.L.D. debut in Season 4. The character is based on the Marvel NOW! comic series, rather than the Johnny Blaze rendition that will forever be associated with Nicolas Cage's crazy fire face.

The S.H.I.E.L.D. Twitter account also released a promotional video of Ghost Rider in action, in the former of some cell phone found footage. It doesn't give us much, but it does confirm that Robbie will be riding his black muscle car instead of Johnny's signature motorcycle. But come on, vertical video? Really?…"

Given what a catastrophe the Cage Ghost Rider was ("crazy fire face" should read as "crazy flopping farce") it would be nice if they just left Ghost Rider alone for a while. He is a pretty interesting character if done right.

If they want to do it, a much more interesting and doable for hollywood, version would be the Ghost Rider 2099 character.

While the 2099 universe didn't do so well after the success of the initial launch, there was some real gold there and the first 12 issues of Ghost Rider 2099 were a really neat story.

It won't really work well with S.H.I.E.L.D. as the 2099 character set in 2099, but if you took the idea of that Ghost Rider, a punk ass data transfer/hacker type who downloads himself into the net and winds up in the body of an incredibly powerful warmachine, we have advanced the tech far enough at this point that I think people would buy it given that it is a super hero show, sort of.
