Still waiting on both my rule book and the scenario book, but had a question on the bombers in the book. Would it be a huge alteration to the rules/scenarios to substitute B-24 for B-17 in the scenarios in Breaking the Luftwaffe? I only ask because I am doing it in 1/72 (I have literally an acre outdoors to turn into a hex grid) and have a wealth of B-24 and no B-17 on hand. Thanks for humoring my curiosity while I wait for the books and work on models. |

Don't have those rules, so can't say first-hand, but imagine it should be fine. B-24s were slightly less robust, but apparently faster, so I think you could substitute them for many/most raids. Sounds like a great idea! Please take pics and share. |

There is no difference stats wise… Robustness 4 in both cases, defensive guns nearly identical. I would say that you will be just fine. Regards, Jim |

Yeah the supplement has stats for both and play wise they are little different. Fatman |

I'm surprised they are handled the same since the B17 was a far more rugged plane that was able to withstand very considerable damage and still bring the crew home. As noted above that wasn't the case with the B24. However, to the original question – yup no reason why not but on one condition – you post some pictures as I'd love to see a game of CY6 outside with 1/72 models. |

I will happily post some pics when the time comes. However, it won't be until next spring, long Minnesota winters keep the gaming indoors for the forseeable future, but its great modeling weather. Thanks guys, appreciate it. Always liked the B-24 aesthetically, and according to what I have found, it apparently was the more numerous bomber, so I have no issue substituting it. There seem to be a lot more affordable modeling options with the B-24 at 1/72 than the B-17. In fact, the old Monogram/Revell 1/48 B-17 is cheaper than a lot of the 1/72 B-17s, which had me thinking of doing the game in 1/48, which while cool, storing the models would take so much more space it was prohibitive. Anyway, thanks again! |

No issue at all exchanging B24s for B17s in terms of how the scenarios will play out. Enjoy the book, it is one of my all time favorites. Cheers Scott |
