I've reposted a 2009 'Sharp Practice' game report from the old (and now defunct) 'Kapiti Fusiliers' website onto my blog.

The game is based on one of the scenerios in the 'The Compleat Fondler'.

"With his 'extensive' Militia (sorry, Miwitia) background, Colonel Grabbe-Ghoullies felt it should be he, not that guttersnipe Captain Dick Fondler and his Rifles (sorry, Fondwer and his Wifles), who should be the one to rescue (sorry, wescue) the beautiful spy, the Marquesa de Una Paloma Blanca (and no doubt weap whatever wewards were on offer)."

Casting my mind back …. I seem to remember that I played in that game and it was my dice rolls that had my column advancing at 2" per turn wile the pesky French sprinted to their position.

Yes, you were the British dice-thrower in that game, Brian.

I can still see your face drop at the massive pile of dice the French line got for their devastating volley. It did seem to be an awful lot of dice, and to this day I'm not sure if we didn't do something wrong to accumulate so many dice for just one round of fire.

It's a great scenario. When we played it, the look on the British player's face when he realised the 'Marquesa' is in fact a Frenchman in a dress was priceless.

Gee thanks. All these memories flooding back. And I thought it was just me throwing snake eyes (or close to it) every movement phase.

I think that part was correctly played, Brian!
