That action was going to be frustrating for the French, no matter what. The whole setup that lead to the battle pretty much ensured a likely defeat. Where they anchored, how they anchored and their orders from Napoleon pretty much locked it all down. Then you add the natural-born trouble of Nelson attacking and boy… you're in trouble. |
