Do you? Specifically, what real-world (yeah, that term is begging for sarcastic comments) location do you use for your wargaming, and is it "on your own terms"?

Answers of the form:

I mostly fight at the FLGS because I have to.
I mostly fight on the dining room table because I want to and I can.
I mostly fight in the cellar because SWMBO says so.
I mostly fight at a friend's home, but I prefer that to my house.

… that kind of thing.

I mostly game on the cover of a billiard table in an old folks home as my opposition are residents there.

Edit:- Fight changed to game as Dynaman8789 says and as devout coward fight is not the right word

Dynaman878930 Aug 2016 8:53 a.m. PST

I game in my game room on the game table.

On my own terms I refuse to use the term "fight" rather than game.

I have a big house all to myself and a big game room all to myself.
I do build models on the kitchen table though, just because I can. grin

I normally game in my own game room because that is where everything is. I game occasionally at friend's homes for the same reason. Very much "on my terms", though the idea of a larger communal game room keeps coming up.

I usually play at my friend's house because he has a two big tables.

I don't fight when I play. My toy soldiers fight.

cavcrazy30 Aug 2016 11:59 a.m. PST

I game where ever I can, whenever I can.It doesn't matter where as long as I'm gaming with friends, it's all good.

Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut30 Aug 2016 12:53 p.m. PST

Mostly, I game in my imagination.

At my local club!

We play games at the local game store, one other person's house. The games I host is in my garage. It's well lite and rarely gets too hot or too cold. All my gaming stuff is in there on wire shelves neatly stored. So everything I need is right were I am gaming. I prefer playing games at my house.

I am not sure I get this question? Poorly worded. Do you mean where people play?

What on earth do you mean by "on your own terms"?

I get the Guard Cavalry and you get the Cossacks. I get to wear jeans and a T-shirt but you have to wear a tuxedo. Those are my own terms.

Fight? I don't fight anywhere. I play games. Do you have fights break out where you play? Then you need some new less violent players and a new venue.

My war room. Or if I am really into the moment then my GHQ.

Winston Smith30 Aug 2016 7:58 p.m. PST

Except for when we play at Mike's, we play in my basement.

WarWizard31 Aug 2016 3:16 a.m. PST

Sporadically at the local game club, or in our basement which I share with our rabbit. She doesn't seem to mind so far.

On my own terms. Most of my gaming is on 2'x2' boards in a map drawer in the living room:

I do some larger gaming on 1/2 a table tennis table that is stored away when not using it.

My usual group meets at the home of one of our members. He has a great game room and the local pizza joint on speed dial.

It goes to show that a lack of permanent female companionship is not necessarily a bad thing.

FLGS, though the new location is not as accommodating as the old.

Used to game in my home but have been dispirited since moving to a new house.
