One of three games played this month was an IABSM scenario taken from the Campaign Booklet Bleneville or Bust. The German defenders ended up having a hard day at the office, c'est la guerre!
If you would like to see how the game turned out then just follow the link to the club blog. link Jonathan |

Nive AAR. Thanks! Historically I think anti tank guns would trade off at 3 or 4 (maybe 5) tanks per gun, although probably less in such dense cover and short lines of sight. I would say the British got off lightly. The Jagdpanther was certainly short-lived!! |

Would the scenario book work for Battlefront WWII and/or Fireball Forward? Appears so. Any modifications needed? |

I was wondering the same. Maybe smallish encounters for Battlefront WWII? This one, maybe, (at a rough estimate one Pak40 stand, four Shermans, six stands Germans, but a single Jagdpanther trickier to handle). |

Perhaps just "telescope" it up and leave the same stand/vehicle amounts? I dont see a breakdown of forces, but appears British may have had a motorized or mechanized platoon and some 25lber support? |

Thanks for your comments chaps. The British took full advantage of a German commander finding his way with the rule set and you can expect the Shermans to have a much harder time in most replays of this scenario. IABSM is a company level game with the smallest units representing rifle and light machine gun teams of two and three men, three or four such teams representing a section or squad. I believe Fireballl Forward and Battlefront are like Squad Leader working on the next level of team bases representing squads or multiple weapons. So yes a bit of telescoping the orbats up or fighting at the lower level would be required. It should be straight forward to do and I have done a similar exercise translating up the Skirmish Campaign books on a one to one scale up to IABSM. The Bleneville book provides a fictitious Normandy campaign of linked scenarios that allow various German and US/British battle groups to fight up and down a campaign map tree depending on the results in each scenario played. Hope that helps. JJ |

Hi You can get more details of Blenneville or Bust from here: link |

Thank you. The sample scenario forces are perfect for fireball forward and look like they could easily adapt for Battlefront WWII. (Anzio and Sicily books looks interesting too!). Ordered and downloaded Blenneville. Have most of the vehicles needed – just most are in boxes waiting to be built!) |
