Hi, on Sunday we put a demo game on at Partizan 2 and I have just added a post with details to the blog. Bagamoyo was particularly relevant as it was within 4 days of the 100th anniversary of the action. Hope you enjoy.

nice battle reconstruction…i have old article from WI and the map from the Official History…thought quite a few times to play this battle…among your German figures i detected some rare, out of production, 28mm HLBSC Schutruppen Command posing as art. crew..in my opinion the most beuatiful colonial Germans in that scale

Thanks Italwars, we do indeed have quite few HLBSC figures in there, I particularly like their Askari which I think are the best German Askari out there so far.

Beautiful. Great pictures

Thanks, very inspiring for my 10mm project!
Not to nitpick a superb game, but should I do my Brit sailors in khaki for this action? Would they have worn straw hats brimmed or Wolesley sunhelmets??

A really beautiful and inspirational game. What did you use as the Konigsberg gun? Is it a commercially available piece or a scratch build?
All the best,
George.

Thanks guys, Durban Gamer I suspect the Sailors would be in whites or Khaki, however the only sailors we had were Chris's in blue so that's what we went with. I am tempted to think Navy caps as shown, certainly not straw hats these were quite a bit earlier. I know we could have bought and converted a stack of figures but I don't see us using them for any other games.

The Konigsberg gun is commercially available from the Vurtual arm chair general George.

Beautiful looking game. i hope to be at that level someday

Hi Roger, I spotted a gun on the VAG web site which I thought might be yours so thanks for the confirmation. Your game has inspired me to activate my old WW1 in East Africa project. I collected and painted the figures years ago but never did anything with them. I've bought the In the Heart of Africa rules and got my hands on the WW1 East African lists which are in Wargames Illustrated 190 so it's game on!
