I saw the previous thread on Desert Pink, but no one around me sells Humbrol. Would it work to mix Vallejo Tan Yellow or Iraqi Sand with a dusty pink?

Perhaps just add a drop of red to your favorite, beige-ish, desert sand color, and mix, very, very well.
