Was amazed to see this exhibit at the Prince August factory in Cork – with over 15,000 25mm Napoleonic figures cast and painted by a guy in Germany I believe. They said it took him 8 years.

Definitely worth a look at the pictures on our website.

That is impressive! Nice find!

Nice display but I think if I went to that much effort I would get the British colours the correct way up.

Perhaps after going to all that effort he ran out of time, or had help.

Nitpicking does not diminsih how nice it looks. I, for one, underestimated how good PA figures could look. I wonder if these are all home cast?

I have those molds and the figures looked great when someone else cast and painted them. It 25 or 26 different molds, I think. I lent them to Orv Banasik and he cut vents and sprues holes into them and got very good results.

I cast up a bunch and never did a thing with them.

"British colours the correct way up"

Well…the diorama was done by a German. Perhaps it was a subtle way to indicate his displeasure over the way the Prussian victory at Waterloo was claimed by the British?

(disclaimer – I'm NOT implying that is, or is not the historical fact; just mentioning the general feeling about Waterloo among some Germans).

@ Tony

What's the evidence that modern day Germans give a stuff how other countries describe history? I only know of one writer who asserts as much, he cites no British writers in his bibliography with whom he disagrees and he's now doing time anyway.

On topic: I liked the toy soldieriness of Prince August figures but I couldn't understand why the bayonets were the shape and size of shovels.
