Do any of you know if someone makes a 28mm Livens Large Gallery Flame Projector?

If not, have any of you made one?

Thanks!

Wouldn't be that hard to make. Lots of tubing and bits.

The Wiki Page has pics of a mock-up (might be CGI):

Saw the Wiki page Camcleod, thanks.

It doesn't look like it would be that hard to make, just wanted to check before trying to make one.

Thanks again!

Bear in mind that the only thing visible above ground was the telescopic hoist and the component that sprayed the flames. Everything else was hidden in a tunnel. The telescopic hoist pushed the flame throwing component through the ground when the Livens was brought into action.

Yup…was planning on making two versions of it – the part the one would see above ground as well as the whole thing. I'm thinking of using the version of the whole thing as an objective marker; it might be an interesting display piece on the shelf as well.

Excellent idea. Would love to see the finished article if possible. Happy modelling!

I'll post when I make it. It's on the back burner for a while…letting the idea simmer.

On a slow burn…

Couldn't resist, especially in a thread about flamethrowers.

On a more relevant note, Livens also developed the projectors to propel canisters full of flammable liquid when it was realised that the flamethrower was not really a goer.
