Last weekend saw the Gentlemen Wargamers continue their run of Peninsular battles featuring our Spanish armies in 10mm. This time, our host put together a fine scenario based on the Battle of Cardedeu, from St. Cyr's relief of Barcelona.
There's a full photo AAR here (bottom of the page) with OBs and a narrative of the action: warartisan.com/reports Or, if you just want to flip through the pictures: link Enjoy, Jeff |

A very nice-looking game and interesting scenario, thanks for posting. One question – how did you get the stream to blend in so well? Is it part of the mat or a separate item? |
War Artisan | 21 Aug 2016 12:43 p.m. PST |
It's part of the mat. Rivers and roads that stand above the surrounding terrain just look wrong. |

Well, it is a very effective set up – thank you. |

Bonjour, A splendid looking game. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Paul |

That game looks simply awful! For the Spanish, I mean. :-) I'm sure you had plenty of good spirits on hand to console the Spanish officer corps…. and to help the French survive constant puns on the word "sincere". Thanks for another very inspiring AAR. I always mean to produce documents like those, but I'm less competent with camera work and player discipline. Did you guys build your 10mm collections collaboratively, independently, serendipitously, or otherwise? I'm curious how you got a whole group started in this scale. - Ix |

Oddly enough, I did not hear a single "sincere" pun all day, though the selection of fine spirits would certainly have made them tolerable, had there been any. I personally was going back and forth between sipping a Lismore 12 year and generous pours of Deschutes' Obsidian Stout, complemented by a lovely Monte Cristo corona. The 10mm collections were built quite independently and without collaboration, and not everyone in the group is involved. I started mine first, and when the group saw what was possible in this scale, some of them began to build collections of their own. One of them has surpassed my own collection, in spite of my considerable head start. |

Great AAR. Thanks for that – a fascinating read and one for the files for future reference! |
