Do you use carving knives for your wargaming work?

These are typically small sharp blades mounted in wooden handles, often used for woodworking.

nevinsrip20 Aug 2016 2:54 p.m. PST

Only on miscreant Editors!!

A joke, Bill.

No snark intended.

rmaker20 Aug 2016 3:05 p.m. PST

Oh! WOOD carving knives! Actually, no. Nor meat carving knives, either, usually, though I did use an old steak knife once to hack up some Styrofoam.

Ragbones20 Aug 2016 4:12 p.m. PST

Good Lord no! I cut myself on a butter knife once while having dinner with my friends at the Texas Roadhouse during a convention. Sharp knives and I don't go together.

Food, yes.
Miniatures, no.

I have an odd wood handled tool or two but none of them has a knife blade in them.

ZULUPAUL Supporting Member of TMP20 Aug 2016 7:40 p.m. PST

No I use Xacto knives only

53Punisher20 Aug 2016 10:09 p.m. PST

Yes, in fact, I just bought a new set the other day. Very handy.

Apart from wood – is there a reason they are useful to you?

I don't think I've ever had a need for one but sell me on it.

First you start giving us reviews of slasher films and now you are asking about carving knives. All of this is beginning to sound very suspicious. We are not missing any editors are we?

Yes. Only on Mighty Empire tiles to change the scenery. I find the blade shapes better for working on the flat surfaces better than craft knifes or scalpels.

No, exact pretty much covers it for me.

Yes, but only when I need to throw off the CSI investigators.
