Good figures, well worth having.

Perhaps the TV Detective you are thinking about is George Sewell, from the Special Branch TV series?

They look so good!

Normally I wouldn't buy a set like this but maybe, just maybe, I should in this case.

Cheers Paul

Very nicely done.

Remarks on two minor points addressed by Paul in his blog:

First, in my opinion, the string instrument held by the warrior has a rounded back, so probably is meant to represent a rebec rather than a vielle (which had a flat back). Or, it's a Strelets hybrid…grin

Second, the most prominent work on medieval falconry probably was Emperor Frederick II's "De arte venandi cum avibus":

Splendid:

Thanks :-D
@ Scharnachthal. Thanks. I reckon youīre right. Iīve looked up the rebec and found this page

and it Looks more likely it is indeed a rebe and I didnīt find the De arte venandi cum avibus, so thanks again for that one :-D

Thanks. he does look very Close (so Close Iīm now not 100% sure he isnīt the one I was thinking of) but I donīt think the one Iīve in mind was as famous

Not exactly TV detective, but looks rather like Bernard Archard (Spycatcher, Dr Who, Emmerdale etc…)???

Pauls Bods26 Aug 2016 6:46 a.m. PST

It really does have a huge similarity to Bernard Archer. but I think Iīve worked out who he reminds me of (although Iīm still not 100% sure it was him ), Roger Lloyd-Pack. Why I thought he might have been in a detective series I donīt know.
