A quote from the blog -- "The Roman army chose to float Crassus and let his subordinates take the strain. With hindsight Pete thought that this was not such a good idea, but I'm not so sure. Certainly it demonstrated the difference in the command structure." I would like to know more about this statement and how command is structured in MeG. One reason I don't like DBA/DBM is that the pip system is used for all armies, unlike the game system in GMT's Great Battles of History where Romans, Macedonians, and others have different command systems. In other words, why do most game rules simulate differences in weapon systems but in command and control? This one statement about "difference in the command structure" has really caught my attention about MeG. I'm intrigued. |
