My copy of Congo from Studio Tomahawk arrived the other day, despatched very promptly by Northstar Miniatures.

Although I haven't had a chance to play them yet I've posted some initial thoughts on my blog…

Thanks for dropping by and having a look (unless you're a Russian bot…0

Does anyone know who makes the paddlewheeler boat in some of the pictures in Congo?

Looks scratchbuilt, but I could be wrong. If you can find a copy, the Foundry Painting Guide gives an overview of how to make a similar steamer.

To bad they did not add a Belgian list since Belgians were in the Congo and foundry makes a good range of Belgians and Force Publique

The Explorer list should work for the Force Publique.

I am so looking forward to getting my hands on Congo.

Congo is supposed to be set before the formation of the Congo Free State so there isn't a list as such for Force Publique. However, Ivan is quite right in saying that the Explorer list will work for them. It includes soldiers (good quality regulars) Europeans and various grades of Askari as well as allied native tribesmen.

If you are in the market for a steamer, dhow, or gunboat check out my buddy's blog. His custom hand made boats are absolutely awesome!!!! And he sells them.

Thank you great review and now I am hooked on buying the game. Oh and btw I saw in side bar you are reading Neal Gaiman's American Gods. You will not be disappointed.

Looks a bit like something Kev Dallimore did for Wargames Foundry

their are alternatives that could be detailed up like these.

The game is a lot of fun, picked up a copy at the Oldhammer event at Foundry, the people playing seemed to have a blast and the game looked fun.

All the publicity about the tv version made me re-read it…I first read it when it came out. Excellent book.

This is a good game and a good move from Foundry. The figure tie in with companies may not be new, like NorthStar and Osprey but it is something that has been rather remiss with Wargames Foundry and somewhat of a surprise that they have not jumped into this one sooner.

with the massive figure range and packs makes this a smart move from Studio Tomahawk as they can move faster with new releases by using existing WF ranges to tie in without having to organise sculptures and delays on minaitures; curious to see how they move with the expansion packs now as the game its self is enjoyable.
