6 months. Then I went back a couple months ago, part time. It's kinda like a victory lap – they really couldn't manage without me. I'll finish this contract in another couple months, and retire again. |

Retired from the NPS in July 2005. Early retire after 30 years and got a pension. Since I had one child in college, and a second getting ready I could not hang around on the couch all day. Started a new career with jetblue airlines. I am still there (although now part time)! Number one daughter has finished her master's and number one son is half way through degree and I am having a ball at work. Love my job and wife loves to travel. |

Retirement 1: 2001 with early retirement package, Pension and Medical coverage but not old enough to stop working. Retirement 2: 2014 company lost contract and would have to become a temp again but turned 62 10 days before lost job so went on social security. Social Security + pension + savings = OK |

Five years. And I have since then painted thousands of figures, including those for my own collection, bought hundreds more and – most important – got to play very regularly with five grandchildren. Mind: "retiring" is definitely not the same as "stop working"! |

Health problems forced me out 4 years ago but am only now coming to terms with not having a job to go to. I miss the stress and the money. On the plus side I have painted thousands of figures in those 4 years. |
