Like a kid in a candy store, I got excited and didn't pay attention to the description on the tree armatures and I got the wrong size.

Opened it and the store won't return/exchange it.

I accidentally bought the 2-3 in ones and I need the larger ones for 10mm.

So, any ideas on how to use these smaller armatures in a 10mm game?

Thanks

Orchards perhaps

What's wrong with shorter trees? I use a mix of 2-4 inches.

Mix them in with bigger trees. They will look like younger, half grown trees.

Agreed. I'd mix them in with bigger trees.

Where are your games set? Some places have smaller, stunty trees due to lack of water (the drainage behind my back fence, for instance), and other places have small trees due to the cold (I use small trees for Viking games set in Iceland). In any case, trees are another thing that works best when smaller than they would be in real scale, since shorter trees are less likely to get knocked over.

Or, use them for 6mm, or sell them as such, and buy the right ones.

We have all kinds of shrubs and trees here, and they come in all sizes; even the 350+ foot Douglas Fir starts off as a seedling.

2-3" high trees would sound perfect for 10mm,thats the size of most of the ones we use in our 15mm games

Cut up the tree limbs and get 4-6 trees, in closer size desired, per tree?

Mugwump14 Aug 2016 4:00 a.m. PST

Use them as heavy brush markers.

Use these trees as branches on your own scratch built trunks.

@acctingman1869,

If you need them to be larger, get some wooden dowel the same width as the tree trunks. cut to your desired height and then pin them together, you can use putty to cover the seam but it will add height to your trees.

Hope that helps

Thank you all…some awesome ideas

Warlord…I'm going to give that a shot. After putting a couple together, they actually look ok. Might make them "orchard trees" too

Many thanks!

If you want an accurate looking woods you need smaller trees near the edge of it.

If a figure is 10mm high, a 2"-3" high tree is between 30' and 45'high.
