Great report. I drove through the actual battlefield today on my way to a hobby shop in Newport News, VA to play a civil war game. The battlefield is now almost completely covered with residential housing. A few of the redoubts are preserved an managed by the local park service. My late father-in-law went onto private property, by invitation, and used his metal detector to find artifacts. He gave me several bullets from the battle. I was surprised to find they had not been fired until I realized the battle was fought in a terrific downpour that started before dawn and lasted all day. I suppose a lot of those paper cartridges were wet and discarded onto the ground as useless. Again, nice report!

Thanks for the comments Bugler…..I still need to make it up there to tour the battlefield, even if it is covered with houses….still would like to check out the redoubts.

I hope your game today went well!
