Talking about her latest book,"SPQR". This may be a rebroadcast. Has anyone read it? |

No, although she is well thought of. Her Broadcast antics don't always do her good -she recently opined Boudicca was a terrorist. Mrs Roman calling someone a terrorist! |

SPQR is a very entertaining read, and Beard approaches the material in some ways I've never read before. I think almost anyone would enjoy it, not just antiquity geeks. |

If you'd said "antique geeks" you'd have me nailed! Only one of hers I've read is her bio of Jane Harrison. So far. Edit: Listening now. Just played a clip from "Life of Brian". |

She is a good historian and a good writer except for her fixation on toilets |

My heart belongs to the lovely and erudite Bettany Hughes! |
