I am going to run a chariot race game for the local group. I would like to find some pictures that I could use as backdrop with scenes of Stadium/Circus Maximus. We're going to do this on a 12 x 6' table but I can always expand or stretch out what I have.

Can somebody point me to pictures on the web that I might use to help make this backdrop. It can be actual historical or wargame scenes

Thanks much

Quick question about basing inf. on bases. When you all do your inf. stands ie. HQ, CO, Squads, eng. How many do you usually mount per base? I'm taking basing individual inf. figures.

I usually base 4-5 for base infantry. Command, FOO etc. are 3 per base (on a smaller base):

You can see the two sizes above. The beads are unit ID markers (extra white bead = command stand).

Command and FOO are normally one per base. Command is sometimes two per base – for the radio man.

I base mine on self adhesive linoleum floor tiles. 1cm by 1cm for individuals and two man teams. 2cm by 2cm for squads or 3 or 4. Whatever size is needed for vehicles.

Command and support 3 to a base, squads 4, and assualt/engineers 5.

Infantry stands are usually 4-6 (sometimes with different formations to denote different weapons types e.f. diamond for SMG stands).

Engineers, recce etc usually have a figure or two less than infantry.

Support weapons are weapon + crew.

HQs are 2-3 and sometimes a vehicle.

Observers are individual (sometimes a vehicle).

3 per base for squads, 2 per base for teams/crews (MG or bazooka etc) and 1 for Co.
