I can't comment on the game itself, but I like your minis.

Sounds like you had some really bad luck. That being said, the d20 mechanism isn't for everybody. Personally, I like the wild swings in outcomes; death comes quickly, unexpectedly, and without warning and I think that gives a realistic feel. Other folks like more control over possible outcomes.
You're already on the right track with the changes you are thinking of making. A warband full of high priced troops is not a good choice for a starting wizard. As you figured out, a more mixed party with one or two heavy hitters, a couple missile troops and 3-4 thugs/thieves, is the best bet. Also, as you already surmised, its best to start with easy-to-cast spells. You also want to make sure you have something offensive to cast; Bone Dart, Elemental Bolt, or Mind Control are all good. Like your opponent, its also good to have something that moves objects or people; either Telekinesis, Teleportation, or Leap.

79.. thanks.

Chris, Great minds think alike. Thanks.

You're welcome. :)

Also keep in mind that in the Campaign game, characters that are killed in the game aren't necessarily killed in the Campaign. After the game you will to see if any figure killed in the game is really dead, or was just knocked out. Wizards only really die if you roll a 1 or a 2 post game. Our campaign of 7 players has played 6 games and only one of us has permanently lost their wizard, and two of us have permanently lost apprentices.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks!

Not a Frostgrave player but your figures are indeed beautiful work.

I really like the ice stuff.

Thanks. Yeah, I love the ice stuff too. My buddy bought it literally hours before we played from some stranger.
