I have been playing a solo mini-campaign in the Sudan, circa 1884-85, with 54mm toy soldiers and BAR Colonial rules.
Two weeks ago the Dervish defeated the British army at El-Dubie and post battle I have sent a scouting patrol back to the scene of the battle to recover the body of the late Colonel Barlow.
Follow the progress of the patrol on my blog Barlow's square:

I just happen to be re-reading Bennet Burleigh's, "Desert Warfare," and your wonderful campaign is the perfect accompaniment. |

This evening I fought the battle that ensued once the Camel Corps attempted to break out and race back to the base camp at Dongola. I will post pix and report on my blog tomorrow. |

I can only repeat my comment from an earlier posting. You have restored my spirits for wargaming. This is as refreshing and fun as anything I normally do. Can I live at your house? H |
