The 95e Regiment de Ligne like its comrades in the 94e Ligne acted as I Corps reserve throughout the two days of the Battle of Talavera, which is reflected in the lowest casualty count for any of Victor's infantry regiments.
This battalion and final regiment marks the end of a project started back in May last year to produce all 24 battalions of line infantry that formed the core of Victor's powerful I Corps d'Armee. If you would like to know more then as always, just follow the link to JJ's link Jonathan |
