Hello My question is two part. I seem to remember Von Luck talking about the Italians helping acclimatize to the desert and that they had some very smart looking reed green tunics that were linen instead of wool. Also does anyone make Italian motorcycles. We see lots of German stuff in ww2 but Italian not so much. Ideas for conversion would be helpful. Oh yes I was looking for pictures showing the tunics or the motorcycles. As always thanks |

Somewhere I'm pretty sure I've seen 28mm Italian Bersaglieri on motorcycles -- including a biposto motoguzzi -- but I can't remember where. |

the only clue could be the smartest moto unit of the Italian Army…the "Polizia Africa Italiana" (PAI)…they were very fashionable..their dress uniform was blue and also motos…but the campaign dress, also if being kaki, was very iconic

the motorcycles were blue? Now if there was just a manufacturer that would make 28mm Italian motorcycles |

try some conversions with existing 28mm motorcycle..i don't think you need too many of them… |

I could use some ideas for seated Italians that I could modify into riding positions (28mm) figures. |

there is a range that i don't like at all…produced here in Rome…but their line catalogue include some 28mm Italian Motos with Bersaglieri riders..they are labelled RSI..so some very small conversion work is required..but the general appearance of the clothes, boots are OK…and, most important, the moto is an Italian one…probably a Guzzi link |

just some ideas for Italian motos: we had a great tradition of moto and riders..so obviously the military cannot afford to do not have their moto units: in Africa: PAI Police..both Italian and native Lybians riders..of corse Bersaglieri which were the most specialised moto mounted units…in East Africa too…the ver present PAI also with Ascari (Somalian/Eritrean) moto constabularies.. In Russia…Bersaglieri moto units saw quite a few succesful actions…in many cases..both Africa, Russia, Europe(France, Italy, Balkans ecc…many riders sported fatigue overalls (grey green but even blue denim) with a generic look that could easily achieved by conversions… |

Didn't The Bersagiieari have a special unit that hunted LRDG units, I think this would be a good scenario. Light equiptment against unarmored trucks. North Africa seems appealing to be lately because of the wide variety of Local units on both sides that would add a great deal of flavor to the game. I like the bikes the figures maybe not so much. Is seems Motorcycles are fine if you are Germans the manufacturers seem to give everyone else short shift. Thanks again for the help |

The anti LRDG units of the Italian Army in N. Africa where the compagnie sahariane …mounted on thsoe kind of vehicles
i don't think is feasable to hunt long range of roads units with motocycles..and by units , like Bersaglieri, that..except their iconic apparance where neither élite (in fact poor morale units) neither equipped with special material |

Rubicon as mentioned they would like to do some Italian motorcycles the more people ask them the better to help make it a reality link |
