What's your take on Iraq's MiG-29s in the late Iran-Iraq War/Invasion of Kuwait era? To me, photos appear to show grey base with grey-green overspray, but I have seen them depicted as blue on blue, blue on grey, green on grey and grey on grey. Anyone have a "definitive" answer?

Hmmmm, haven't seen enough of them to really say.

Russkies used light-gray/green over gray, so I suspect that to be the most likely camo..

Forget the website name for camo – Russian based, but I'd try there first, since they have lots of color drawings of jets for the world's countries that modelers can use as a reference.

Try Google Images, and Iraqi Mig-29, and I suspect some will crop up. Some are just side views, but some are 3-View or 4-View drawings as well.

Found it – Wings Palette

This one shows gray on gray:

Some of them seem to appear as if they're greenish gray, but it is hard to tell from the artwork.

A search of actual photos might be more useful.

Definitely green – it's hard to find a decent photo of them back in the '80s and early '90s, but you can see a greenish tinge even in this badly washed out photo – considering that neither the trees nor the insignia look terribly green with this combination of light and film, it's fair to assume the greenness of the darker camo colour is similarly much more marked than it appears in the photo.

Thanks, Mako. Searched both. I tend to think the same way you do – light green-grey over grey. Not many photos of actual aircraft, but they seem to confirm it.

BTW, you might enjoy this website – most of it is Arabic language, but Google Translate does a good enough job translating it to figure out what's going on:

EDIT: Thanks also, Dom. I appreciate the input.
