I saw a some mini boston ferns on sale at Michaels and they turned into great trees for my jungle board. I paid 1.99$CND each.
I based them on washers using hot glue and repainted the stems. Might add a little flock to the bases later.

How tall?

The trunk is 3 1/4 inch and to the top most leaf it's 8".
The leaves are bendy wire so you flatten it out if you prefer.
There is a 28mms Neanderthal in the middle for reference.

Hmmm, I saved a fair-sized silk fern plant from the trash at work. With a little effort, I could make dozens of those little beauties.
